Britney Arteaga has been a Legal Assistant with the Firm since 2022.
She recently graduated Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, a minor in International Relations, & a Pre-Law Certificate from Florida International University. Britney was a member of “Empowering Women in Law,” the FIU Honors College, and was the Treasurer for the Political Science Honor Society. Britney was also a Teacher’s Assistant during her senior year for Christina Vilaboa-Abel, Esq., partner of the Firm, where she mentored first year students on the university’s Pre-Law track. She is the first in her family to graduate and hopes to continue her education by attending law school one day and becoming an attorney.
Celianna has been a Paralegal with the Firm since 2019.
Celianna graduated with a Master’s Degree in Global Affairs with a concentration in International Crime and Justice from Florida International University in 2023. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and a Certificate in Latin America and the Caribbean Studies from Florida International University in 2017. She also graduated Cum Laude with an Associate’s degree in Legal Studies from Florida National University in 2014. Celianna has 10 years of experience working in the legal field as a Legal Assistant & Paralegal for various law firms in Miami and Orlando, FL. Celianna also had the opportunity of being a Program Coordinator for the School of Continuing Education in Miami Dade College-Hialeah Campus for over two years. Her interests include International Crime and Justice, Latin America and the Caribbean history and current events, Human Rights, LGBTQIA+ Rights, and Women’s Rights. Celianna is originally from Havana, Cuba, and only started learning English at the age of 19 when she first moved to the United States. She is now proficient in both English and Spanish.
Jesus brings decades of bankruptcy law experience to CAVA Law, having assisted with his family’s bankruptcy law practice in Puerto Rico since 2009. Now, he brings this value to the firm’s clients, when resolving their legal issues. Moreover, Jesus brings to the firm the dynamic attributes gained through years of military service, having been an Officer and Operations Specialist in the United States Coast Guard. Jesus acquired his Bachelor’s Degree at Florida International University, and thereafter obtained his Juris Doctorate at St. Thomas University School of Law, graduating cum laude within the top ten of his graduating class. While in law school, Jesus was the Vice President of The Federalist Society, and remains very active within the legal profession and the community.
Christina Vilaboa-Abel is a founding partner of CAVA Law. She is a “Proud Panther,” having graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, and thereafter, her Juris Doctorate from Florida International University. For the past decade, she has practiced in the areas of real estate litigation & transactions, bankruptcy, and debt-related advocacy, practicing in state and federal courts throughout the state of Florida. Christina is a member of the Florida Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Aside from practicing law, she is a Faculty Fellow at the Honors College at Florida International University, where she teaches undergraduate courses for the pre-law program. Christina is actively involved with the community, earning recognition from the Southern District of Florida for her pro bono contributions to debtors in need of legal assistance. She has been selected on the roster for “Super Lawyers, Rising Stars” in the area of Bankruptcy Law, annually, from 2018 through the present. In her free time, Christina enjoys spending time her family, gardening, and taking Zumba classes.
Vanessa C. Angulo is a co-founder and partner at CAVA Law. She currently spearheads the Firm’s Creditor Rights Representation Department; however, her practice encompasses the areas of bankruptcy, debt litigation and negotiation, real estate litigation and transactions.
Vanessa is admitted to practice in federal courts throughout the entire state of Florida, specifically: the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida.
A Florida International University alumna, she completed her Bachelor of Arts and thereafter, enrolled at Nova Southeastern University, Shepard School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctorate. During her time in law school, Vanessa acted as the Managing Editor of the Honor’s Journal, International Citator & Research Guide and made the Dean’s List on numerous occasions.
When Vanessa is not busy at the office, she enjoys spending quality time with her family.
Alessandra Dumenigo is an associate attorney at CAVA Law. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida International University and her Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from St. Thomas University College of Law. She graduated second in her law school class and received a series of honors and distinctions including the 2020-2021 Scribes Award and the Spring 2021 Copyright Law Excellence in Intellectual Property Award.
While in law school, Alessandra served as an Articles Editor of the St. Thomas Law Review, where her article was published. She also received the “Book Award” for the highest grade in seven courses: Legal Research and Writing; Appellate Advocacy; Wills & Trusts; Trial Advocacy Practice; Women and the Law Seminar; Trademark and Branding Law; and Copyright & Content Management
An excellent problem solver, Alessandra is skilled at analyzing obstacles and eager to resolve issues on behalf of her clients. In her free time, Alessandra enjoys spending time with family, playing tennis, and traveling.
