Mayret has held senior in-house legal and compliance roles at major financial services companies, including MoneyGram International and Block. In these capacities, she served as Banking & Payments Counsel, Commercial Counsel, and Assistant General Counsel. She managed cross-border payments, enterprise-wide contract negotiations, regulatory oversight, and commercial strategies across global transactions.
Her practice at MoneyGram and Block focused on the intersection of finance, payments regulation, AML/OFAC sanctions, and technology-driven compliance — underscoring her ability to advise on complex, regulated business operations in high-risk industries. Mayret guided compliance and corporate initiatives through evolving legal landscapes, ensuring operational resilience and regulatory alignment.
With substantive experience across corporate counsel, structured finance, payments regulation, contract negotiation, and compliance programs, Mayret supports the Firm’s clients in navigating legal complexity at the intersection of business growth and regulatory risk. She enhances the Firm’s ability to assist corporate clients with enterprise-level finance and compliance challenges.
Valeria brings over a decade of experience in civil litigation and bankruptcy law to our team. Her deep understanding of these areas allows her to effectively support our attorneys and contribute to successful case outcomes. She is committed to delivering exceptional service and assisting clients through complex legal processes.
Roxana Clemente is an Associate Attorney at CAVA Law where she began her legal career as a Legal Assistant before pursuing her law degree. After completing her studies, Roxana returned to CAVA Law as an Associate Attorney, focusing her practice on bankruptcy, foreclosure proceedings, and real estate matters.
Roxana earned her Juris Doctor degree from St. Thomas University College of law, graduating magna cum laude in the top 15% of her class. During law school, she was an Articles Editor for the St. Thomas Law Review and a member of the St. Thomas Moot Court Board. During this time, she also externed with the St. Thomas Law Bankruptcy Clinic and the U.S. Department of Justice’s U.S. Trustee Program.
Roxana is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida.
In her free time, Roxana enjoys spending time with family and friends and has a passion for interior design.

Zashary holds both a Juris Doctorate Degree and a Master’s in Business Administration. Zashary’s Unique background in Law and Business serves as an asset to the firm in areas of Business Law and Commercial Litigation.
In the Personal Injury field, Zashary has over 19 years of experience; prior to obtaining her Juris Doctor in 2011 from Florida International University, Zashary managed a boutique Personal Injury Law firm. Zashary is a member of the Florida Bar, the U.S District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the U.S. Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. In her spare time, Zashary enjoys traveling with her husband and son, and giving back to the community.

Yeni Ortega has been a Bankruptcy Paralegal with the Firm since 2020.
As a foreign attorney who has dedicated herself to learning the intricacies of the U.S. legal system as a paralegal, Yeni brings a unique and enhanced perspective to her role as bankruptcy paralegal to the Firm.
Celianna has been a Paralegal with the Firm since 2019.
Celianna graduated with a Master’s Degree in Global Affairs with a concentration in International Crime and Justice from Florida International University in 2023. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and a Certificate in Latin America and the Caribbean Studies from Florida International University in 2017. She also graduated Cum Laude with an Associate’s degree in Legal Studies from Florida National University in 2014. Celianna has 10 years of experience working in the legal field as a Legal Assistant & Paralegal for various law firms in Miami and Orlando, FL. Celianna also had the opportunity of being a Program Coordinator for the School of Continuing Education in Miami Dade College-Hialeah Campus for over two years. Her interests include International Crime and Justice, Latin America and the Caribbean history and current events, Human Rights, LGBTQIA+ Rights, and Women’s Rights. Celianna is originally from Havana, Cuba, and only started learning English at the age of 19 when she first moved to the United States. She is now proficient in both English and Spanish.
Christina is an attorney & practice leader with over a decade of experience in commercial litigation & insolvency. As one of the founders of CAVA Law, LLC, Christina has been a driving force behind the firm’s growth & rapidly evolving reputation in the South Florida community. Within CAVA Law’s executive suite, she oversees the firm’s business development strategies & its client relations infrastructure. Since 2017, she has been one of the key leaders of the firm’s high-performing team, delivering exceptional results for individual, corporate, and government clients. With mentorship as a key value, Christina is also an adjunct professor at the Honors College at Florida International University (FIU), where she teaches & mentors pre-law undergraduate students.
Christina is an active member of her community. In her professional capacity, she is an active member of Ms. Esquire, the Cuban American Bar Association, the Bankruptcy Bar Association, and the Miami-Dade Bar Association. She has been recognized as a “SuperLawyer: Rising Star” by Thompson Reuters for 8 consecutive years, and was included by The Miami-Dade Bar as one of their “40 under 40” Outstanding Lawyers in Miami-Dade in 2023. In the community at large, she is a member of Ms. Esquire, The Mom Economy and has served on the Board of Directors of 501(c)(3) organizations such as The Child Care Center at Riviera Presbyterian.
Bringing a multicultural perspective to her work, Christina is bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish, and frequently serves as a legal commentator for various Spanish-language news and media outlets, such as Univision, AmericaTeve, MegaTV, and NowMedia.

Vanessa C. Angulo is an attorney and operational strategist with over a decade of experience advising companies, lenders, and individuals in matters involving corporate restructuring, corporate and consumer bankruptcy, creditor rights, and contract-driven legal issues. As a Co-Founder of CAVA Law, LLC, Vanessa has played a central role in developing the firm’s operational infrastructure, financial strategy, and compliance framework, supporting the firm’s growth and long-term stability since its founding in 2017.
Within the firm’s leadership structure, Vanessa oversees legal operations, financial management processes, and regulatory compliance systems, helping implement scalable workflows that promote efficiency, accountability, and consistent service delivery across complex legal matters. Her work frequently involves structuring processes that support high-performing legal teams and sustainable organizational growth.
Vanessa’s practice focuses on advising clients navigating financially distressed and highly regulated environments, with particular emphasis on risk mitigation, strategic resolution of financial disputes, and compliance-driven legal solutions. Her work reflects a commitment to building structured, results-oriented legal frameworks that support both client outcomes and organizational stability.
Vanessa is admitted to practice law in Florida and the District of Columbia, as well as before the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Florida, Middle District of Florida, and Northern District of Florida.
Until September 15, 2025, Vanessa served as Program Manager supporting a multi-million-dollar federal legal services contract for the USDA Office of General Counsel, where she led multi-jurisdictional legal teams and maintained performance, compliance, and budget integrity within a highly regulated federal contracting environment. In that role, the firm served as a subcontractor, and Vanessa received the highest available rating under the Contractor Performance Assessment Reporting System (CPARS), the federal government’s system used to evaluate contractor performance for future contract award decisions. Strong performance under the engagement contributed to the award of an additional federal contract opportunity.
Vanessa earned her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law, where she served as Managing Editor of the Honors Journal, International Citator & Research Guide and was recognized on the Dean’s List on multiple occasions.
Outside of her professional work, Vanessa enjoys spending quality time with her family.
